The Ranking Is Not the Answer
Your next customer will never see your website. Not first, anyway. First they will open an app, type a question into a box that thinks, and read an answer written by a machine. Your name is in that answer, or it is not. The sale happens in that gap, in the split second between the…

The skill is not the Gem
Google’s Skills rollout is not a Gems rebrand. Slash-invoked, stackable, SKILL.md-native instructions land on dated fences, do not sync between Gemini app and Workspace, and force dual-surface recreation before Rapid Release and the Nov 17 Settings move.

The loop is not the generator
Runway Ads is not another AI video generator pitch. The operator product is a closed creative loop: brand kit to variants to brand check to human approval to Meta/Google/TikTok publish to performance readback to the next round, with budget guardrails and a pilot-only fence.

The workhorse is not Chat
GPT-6.1 Sol is sold as near-Astra workhorse intelligence at about one-fifth Astra token prices, but it ships in Work and Codex (not Chat), Ultrafast is not live, GPT-6.1 Astra was pulled for safety, and the cash delta vs GPT-6 Sol is mainly cached input for agent loops.

The avatar is not the identity
OpenAI’s Dots look like Muse cosplay stickers. The operator product is specialist identities, Slack/Teams posting under a Dot’s own identity, Enterprise permissions off by default, Agent 365 governance, and work that sits outside ChatGPT usage limits.

The mid-tier is not fallback-free
Claude Sonnet 5.5 keeps Sonnet 5’s $2/$10 list price but claims fewer tokens per task, faster output, and (for the first time on Sonnet) cyber fallbacks that can divert mid-conversation. Same price is not same bill, and same mid-tier is not a silent ID swap.

The partner is not the match
LiveRamp says it is a ChatGPT Ads technology partner that can turn RampID-matched first-party data into Custom Audiences in 11 unnamed markets. That is an identity-routing ticket, not proof RampID is a first-class OpenAI audience key, not proof your geo is live, and not a substitute for OpenAI’s own match rules.

The teammate is not the chat
Microsoft’s September 25 Copilot rearchitecture puts Autopilot (formerly Scout) beside Home and Code: a persistent teammate with its own identity, memory, computer, and workspace, billed on usage-based credits, not another Chat tab under the USL.

The capability is not the permission
Adform says ChatGPT, Claude, and Copilot can reach 800-plus FLOW capabilities via MCP. The July skills were read-only. The September claim never defines write. Audit the boundary before you plug an agent into a live DSP.

The agent is not the ad
Meta Muse on Shopify is default-on Agentic: Catalog plus Direct checkout, Shop Pay as the rail. Channel ownership this week, not a Muse creative brief.
